Gov. Jared Polis was joined by a special guest during his May 28 afternoon update on Colorado's coronavirus response. Susan Polis Schutz, who just celebrated her 76th birthday, highlighted the challenges older residents face while staying home during the pandemic.
“Older Coloradans have the most at stake,” Polis said from the carriage house at the governor's residence at Boettcher Mansion.
Coloradans had been encouraged to stay close to home to recreate during the state's fight with COVID-19. Now the Polis administration is letting residents know it's OK to travel in the state, so long as they respect local rules about the pandemic.
So far, 24,767 coronavirus cases have been identified in the state according to the latest information from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Total deaths stand at 1,392 and nearly 161,000 people have been tested in Colorado according to CDPHE.
