Heat-related illnesses at the Pikes Peak Regional Air Show in Colorado Springs continued Sunday after dozens of people were treated the day before. Organizers say around 40 people required attention Sunday compared to 100 Saturday. That includes one person who needed to go to the hospital, down from 10 the day before. Organizers say the site registered temperatures in the low 100s throughout the weekend.

Dozens of people attending the sold out Pikes Peak Regional Air Show in Colorado Springs were treated for heat-related illnesses Saturday. According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department, about 100 people were affected. Around 10 people were taken to the hospital, while others were monitored indoors while cooling down.
CSFD says the agency needed additional resources due to the large number of people affected. Original estimates were that 40 to 50 people were being treated with three having gone to the hospital; those numbers were later updated by the fire department.
The news came just hours after CSFD posted a warning on social media for attendees to stay hydrated. The Colorado Springs Airport later reminded people on social media the location of a water station near the medical tent.
As of nearly 4 p.m. Saturday, the National Weather Service in Pueblo reported a temperature of 93 degrees at the Colorado Springs Airport, where the air show is taking place.
The Pikes Peak Regional Air Show continues Sunday. A heat advisory is in place.
