The donation process begins when you complete the online donation form or call the donation line phone number.
An agent from our program partner, Vehicles for Charity, will connect with you to go over the donation process and gather all necessary information, after which you’ll receive a confirmation letter through your preferred communication channel.
Your information is then forwarded to the tow company. The tow company will call you directly to schedule the pick up of your vehicle. At the time of pick up, you will need to give your appropriately signed title and keys to the driver.
The vehicle is then sold at auction to the highest bidder or sent to an auto recycler, and the proceeds are sent to Colorado Public Radio to fuel the programs you love!

Three things are needed:
- A clear title, which means a title with your name listed as the owner on the front of the title, without an assignment or transferred to another person. All liens must be released prior to donating the vehicle.
- Your car keys.
- When you call or fill out our online donation form you must have the title and current mileage in hand.
No, there is no charge to you for the towing.
Typically, your vehicle will be picked up in 2-4 business days. The towing company will contact you within 24-48 business hours from the time we set up your donation.
Yes! Your vehicle donation is 100% tax deductible.
The IRS allows you to claim:
- The value of your vehicle up to $500 if sold for less than $500.
- The amount we sell your vehicle for if sold for more than $500. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, we will need to get additional information from you so that we can send you the IRS form 1098C.

100% of the net proceeds from the sale of your vehicle support non-profit organizations. 80% of the proceeds go to Colorado Public Radio and the remainder goes to our nonprofit partner, Vehicles for Charity (owned and operated by arc Thrift Stores, a 501(c)3 charity.)
